Book Fair, Christmas Program and Open House

The Christmas Program is Thursday, December 9th at 6:30 p.m.  Be sure to have your child/ren in the Epworth lobby by 6:20 p.m.

You are invited to visit the classrooms after the program to view all the great art and craft projects the children have been working on all year.

The Book Fair will be open from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.  There are special prizes for the children with your purchase as well as the teachers' wish lists of books.

Fall Pictures

Don't forget that Fall pictures will be taken tomorrow and Wednesday by Victorian Rose.  There are four packages from $25 to $35 and class pictures are $7.  All orders need to be received by November 20th.  You will also be able to view and order online at the Victorian Rose Studio website.  Once the pictures have been posted, you can go to the website, click on "online proofing" and enter your email address along with the password "pumpkin".

Aldersgate Playschool Magnets

Aldersgate Playschool Car Magnets are available for purchase and are located in Terrie Toms' office.  They are $5 each.  A picture of a car magnet is located at the top of this blog.

John Rosemond is coming to Aldersgate!

Aldersgate UMC will be presenting John Rosemond on September 19, 2010. 

John Rosemond will be speaking during two sessions.  The first session will be on Parenting a Strong-Willed Child from 3:30 pm until 5 pm and the second session will be on Teen-Proofing from 6 until 7:30 pm.

Terrie Toms has 50 free tickets in her office.  If you are interested in hearing John Rosemond speak, please stop by Terrie's office and pick up a ticket.

Orientation Night

Aldersgate Playschool's Orientation Night is Monday, August 30th from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.  You will be able to meet the teachers, see the classroom and get a handbook full of helpful information.

First Day of School!!!

The first day of school will be September 1, so be sure to mark your calendar!  You will receive a letter in the mail the first week of August with information about Orientation/Open House and the upcoming year.

If you know of anyone that might be interested, please tell them there are a few spaces still available in most of the classes.

Art Blooms Tiles and Tumblers

If you haven't already picked up your tiles and tumblers from Art Blooms, don't forget they are ready.  Art Blooms is located in Boiling Springs, NC at 115 North Main Street and the telephone number is 704-434-2555. Photographs

Individual photographs of each graduate will be made previous to the 6:30 pm ceremony.

This will be a close-up pose of the graduate in their cap with their diploma in hand.

An appropriate studio background will be used to enhance your photographs.

Have your graduate present at 5:30 in the EPWORTH building.

* After graduation, you may request special photographs by Lem.

Family group shots with your graduate or any other photos can be made.

Lem will be at the back of the ceremony room for these photographs.

Tell him what you want. He will photograph any combination of people you request!

No pre-payment is required. You will be mailed an order form & proofs to select from.

* The mailing address you have on file at Aldersgate Play School will be where forms are sent.

If you had rather not have your proofs mailed, please let the school know.

You can pick up your order forms and proofs at Lem’s studio.

DVD Video

A DVD Video will be made of the children singing and the graduation ceremony.

- First, the video will contain a wide view of all the children as they sing.

- Later, the video will be a closer view as each child steps out to be recognized individually.

* You will be able to purchase this video the day of the ceremony or later.

Order form envelopes will be available at the ceremony.

Price will be $25 per DVD which includes sales tax + S&H.

Studio hours are 9:30 to 5:30 - Monday through Friday.

If you received a note with your order to call and provide Picture Perfect with your address to mail pictures that were not with your order, the correct telephone number to contact Torri is 1-336-969-6394.

Fabulous Fours!

The four year olds had a wonderful program tonight!  The meal was great too!  Thank you Aldersgate Members for hosting a fantastic progam and meal for everyone.

I am (kind of) looking forward to Graduation.  I can not believe that Kindergarten is just around the corner.

Preschool Poetry Honors

Check out the Shelby Star for some impressive recognition of Aldersgate Playschool children!  Three of the five preschool children are from Aldersgate Playschool!  Way to go!!!

Recycling Request

If you could save your paper towel and or toilet paper "cardboard" rolls and give them to the Playschool, they use these for craft projects.  Hopefully, specific wish lists for each class will be posted under the class pages soon, so check back often!

Wear COLORFUL clothing - changing clothes is not allowed in order to get photos of every child.
You can dress your child in costumes, send sports equipment, musical instruments, toys, etc.
Babies must be able to sit alone or be held by an adult to be photographed.
No pets please.

Picture Perfect will return this Spring to Aldersgate Playschool.  They will be on campus Monday, March 8 and Tuesday, March 9.  There will be an afternoon session from 4 pm until 6 pm for families that want to include older siblings.

Pictures should be available for viewing and ordering the following week.
